Austin Transportation has finalized plans for the Cherrywood Neighborhood Bikeways project proposed some time ago, and is ready to begin implementing it in Spring 2021. This project will improve connectivity to Patterson Park, including pedestrian crossing islands on Cherrywood Rd and Schieffer Ave. It is a continuation of the project which brought an improved crossing at Schieffer and Airport, including access for cyclists entering the park, and new sidewalks on Cherrywood and Schieffer Aves., in 2019. We are grateful to everyone who provided feedback on this project through the city survey and at the community meeting held at Maplewood Elementary, and look forward to seeing neighbors more easily access the park.
