I love Patterson kids Amplify ATX

Amplify Austin starts in one week! This 24 hour fundraiser showers TLC on more than 700 amazing organizations working in Central Texas. Will you make a pledge to amplify our neighborhood park? You can help Friends of Patterson Park make it into an even more welcoming destination for East Austin neighbors to play, exercise, and enjoy the outdoors.

Our goals for this year are to repair and add to our athletic facilities, and to keep building community connections through social events at the park. How can you help us AMPLIFY PATTERSON?

  1. Donate now! Early donations have begun at https://www.amplifyatx.org/p2p/125447/friends-of-patterson-park.

  2. Give during Amplify Austin — from 6pm on March 5 to 6pm on March 6.

  3. Share the link with your friends and encourage them to match your donation!

We are so grateful for the support of businesses and organizations in our neighborhood!  Nature’s Treasures, Franklin Barbecue, Mueller Foundation, Jade Construction, Cherrywood Coffeehouse, and Erin Tassoulas Design + Build have already pledged to match individual donations. And on top of that, Austin Parks Foundation has offered a 100% match of our Amplify Austin Day fundraising! What that means is that every dollar you contribute will be matched 2:1. AMAZING!

March 7 is It’s My Park Day at Patterson Park

Join Friends of Patterson Park on Saturday, March 7th for It’s My Park Day! We’ll meet at 9am at the small pavilion by the basketball court for a family work day mulching trees. 

This is an opportunity for the folks of all ages to volunteer, and there will be coffee, tacos and muffins to keep everyone going. Many thanks to the Austin Parks Foundation for organizing this city-wide day of service.

Make Your Impact During Amplify Patterson

Friends of Patterson Park has been caring for our neighborhood park since 2002, and we have big plans for 2020! Our Amplify goal is to raise $5,000 so that we can continue making improvements to our park and supporting community events that bring neighbors together.

In 2019 we hosted eight community events, including a Pride Picnic, Easter Egg Hunt, and a celebration of that year’s playground expansion and park improvements. We also partnered with the Austin Parks Foundation on two volunteer work days to mulch our heritage oak trees and plant new trees.

Our goals for this year are to repair and add to our athletic facilities, and to keep strengthening community connections. This year, the Austin Parks Foundation has generously offered to a 100% match of the total funds we raise, so your support will go even further.  Schedule your Amplify Austin donation today!

Happy New Year Friends of Patterson Park! It’s been a sleepy winter at the park but things are about to go into hyperdrive for spring.
 
NEWS
* An annual report on our 2019 activities is coming soon. Highlights of the year include 100K in grant funded improvement projects, 350 volunteer hours mulching and planting trees, and 8 community events that brought 600+ neighbors to the park.
*  Amplify Austin is coming up March 4-5, and this year the Austin Park Foundation has generously offered a 100% match  of everything that we raise. We’d love your support to keep up our work in 2020!

Friday, February 14 
Love at the Park
9:30-11:30 a.m.
Join us for our annual celebration of friendship and community at the pavilion. Maplewood is closed for the day, so we’ll be meeting in the morning for brunch, treats, and Valentine’s crafts at the pavilion.
Tuesday, February 25 
Mardi Gras Celebration
5-6:30 p.m.
Let’s celebrate Mardi Gras with a potluck, king cake, and music! There will be masks to decorate and beads to share. 
Wednesday, March 4
Amplify Patterson Kickoff Ice Cream Party
4-6 p.m.
We’ll launch our 24 hour fundraising campaign with a sugar rush at the playground.
Saturday, March 7
It’s My Park Day
9 a.m.-12 noon
This is an opportunity for the folks of all ages to volunteer and help care for our park’s wonderful trees. We will have coffee, tacos and fruit to keep volunteers going.
