Please join Friends of Patterson Park and the City of Austin’s Neighborhood Partnering Program this Saturday to celebrate updates to our sports facilities, including a new shade over the basketball court! We’ll be at the basketball court with refreshments, basketball games, face painting, PARD’s loose parts play kit, and fun giveaways!

We are so grateful to the Neighborhood Partnering Program for our 2021 grant funding these wonderful park improvements! In addition to the beautiful new shade structure, the project includes new backboards and youth baskets, limestone seating at the baseball field, and new trash and recycling receptacles throughout the park. NPP is part of the City of Austin’s Transportation and Public Works Department. 

The new baseball backstop is also part of this project, and was a major part of our 30% match. The backstop was funded by an Austin Parks Foundation grant and money raised by FoPP during Amplify Austin.
