The pavilion is the heart of Patterson Park, where neighbors gather for birthday parties, school events, church gatherings, and family reunions. In December 2016, Friends of Patterson Park proposed a project to update the pavilion furnishings. We were awarded a Neighborhood Grant for $4,600 from the Austin Parks Foundation to purchase new picnic tables, the Parks and Recreation Department plans to replace the outdated trash receptacles, and FoPP will purchase a second bike rack for the area. The new furnishings will be installed in February.
